Wall space in a loft is often in very short supply since one side ussualy has a sloope too acute to leave much room for furniture.By the time you allow space for doors, windows and radiators, there is anot a great deal left for storage, sleeping, and working.
In this attic bedroom, the only flat and solid wall has been crammed full useful shelves and drawers to house most of it’s owner’s possessions. The work surface between the windows and the radiator not only makes the best possible use of space, but also prevents heat rising and escaping before it has a chance to warm the room.Although dark colours normally make a ceiling appear lower, notice how the high gloss finish on these tongued and grooved boards seems to increase the room's size.
